Professor, University of Copenhagen
Ruth Loos is the Vice Executive Director and Group Leader of the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR) at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. With nearly two decades of experience in the field, she has dedicated her career to understanding the genetic causes of obesity, to gain insights into the biology underlying body weight regulation. She focuses on studying more refined adiposity phenotypes and composite phenotypes to uncover new biological insights that traditional obesity research may have missed. Increasingly, her team also studies the genetic and non-genetic factors contributing to growth and weight gain throughout childhood and adolescence.
