Description:
Dr. Jensen will discuss the basic fuel functions of adipose tissue and the exquisite control the body exercises over it in order to maintain health. He will also review the abnormalities that develop as a consequence of fat gain that occurs primarily in the truncal region and how this can negatively impact health.
Learning Objectives:
1. After participating in the webinar, learners will be able to describe the main regulators of adipose tissue fuel control and how this is impacted by obesity.
2. After this webinar, learners will be able to identify the main abnormality present in central obesity and how this can predispose to diseases.

Dr. Michael D. Jensen, MD
Professor of Medicine
Dr. Jensen received his M.D. from the University of Missouri – Kansas City and completed his internal residency medicine and subspecialty training in endocrinology & metabolism at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. He holds the Tomas J. Watson, Jr. Professorship in Honor of Dr. Robert L. Frye at the Mayo College of Medicine and is a consultant in the Division of Endocrinology & Metabolism. Dr. Jensen is currently the Editor-in-Chief of Obesity.
